I'm Back!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Yes, you all missed me I know... Lol

So, it has been forever since I have written a blog, so I will try to cover everything.  The reason I haven't written in a while is because I have to write a blog for school, cheerleading just got over, FCCLA, Academic team, and every other activity...

The Comets finished out our basketball season at a district game versus the Crane Pirates. They are our biggest rivals, and we lost by 1 point.  I am supper proud of our boys for the amazing season we had. 
My blog for school is in Reading, we do Book Talks, but that blog is closed. 
In Academic Team, for the most part our competitions are over, and we came in 3rd in our conference meet. 
In FCCLA; Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, our sponsor wants me to run for office next year, which takes up a lot of time to prepare.  We have our State Conference in April, and she wants me to go.. I have to save money.... yay!!


Um, I think that is the gist of the last month or so....

We are all doing great up here, but it has been so cold!!!!! Freezing! Earlier today we have sleet, at 3:30 in the afternoon. Not cool.  Last week we only had 2 days of school due to snow days.

For all you who don't know, My mom and her boyfriend got engaged over the weekend! I am so happy for them!

Ok, I am done typing for a little bit.

He would be 89 this year, but left early to enjoy the good life.

What we've been up to

AS SOON AS I FIND WHERE I FILED THE PHOTOS ON THIS COMPUTER I'LL POST THEM HERE. So that beautiful bride of mine and I have been running all around northeast Florida enjoying the time we spend together.

So first, a couple weekends ago we actually played tourist and visited the tourists traps in the nation's oldest city.
At one stop was the St. Augustine History Museum.  Took this picture of Viola next to America's original camper.... we joked about traveling around the west in it......... talks good, but doesn't listen so well........



Anyway later on a different weekend we took a road trip..... yes we burned up more fossil fuels just driving around.  Oh well, we enjoyed our time together as always.
So on way home we were getting hungry, so we took a chance and stopped at a cafe besides the highway and along the St. John's river.  Here are a couple pictures of where we were sitting for dinner.  Perfect view of the river.


Then today that bride of mine made we very humble... here we are at the golf course and a couple pics of her on the tee box.  By the way, she out drove me on this, the ninth hole.  Of course, I was playing the blue tees, while Viola was playing the reds. 
I went over and took her picture and missed this excellent drive.  Right in the range of 150 yards. 
Even more humbling was the fact that she beat me on the front nine, I had a 46 and she came in with a 45. 
Of course I venture to say the new golf clubs we had custom made for her had a lot to do with it.  And the hour and a half lesson from a local pro seemed to really boost her confidence.


So I keep trying at the game: As my DAD once said:   a great walk throught the pastures and woods, spoiled by a little white ball. 


So that's what we've been doing.  What's been your excuse for not writing......

R.I.P.

A memorable person of my childhood memories has passed away.

I remember going to the St. Louis Cardinals games with my mom's dad, Alphonse Bansbach, at the old stadium that was made of wood bleachers.
It was north of downtown, out near the Post Dispatch building.

Stan the Man,

Dies at 92

Stan Musial, one of baseball’s greatest hitters and a revered figure in the storied history of the St. Louis Cardinals — the player they called Stan the Man — died Saturday. He was 92.

 

I remember him and have followed him through the years.

 

He will be missed by the St.Louis fans who remember him at 1st base.

 

Pure gentleman ball player.

 

Todays's millionaire players should take a lesson from his life and career.

Great Amazing Race

WELL
Viola and I put in for and got selected as Contestants at the Jacksonville Great Amazing Race.

We headed  up to Little Talbot State Park today for the contest.
Weather was perfect.  Wind was really quite calm.  Temp was perfect.

We were entered in the Senior Division.

AND WE WON with a time of 57 minutes 25 seconds.

Really had a great time.

really was fun.

AND the man running the Race told us we are the oldest team to compete in the Race.  Average age of 65.  
So now we see if any more pictures are posted.

We had a grand time.  But now ache from doing things we havent done.... like racing through sand dunes to the next station.  The best station was with the laundry baskets.  Navigate a course by stepping from one basket to the next.  Oh yeah, two people do it, both of you have to be in a basket before you move the back basket forward; you can't touch the ground or you start over.  And you can't move the basket forward except by using your hand (yep, only one hand, no helping with the foot.)

so we did it.
now to the hot tub to soak the aches and pains away.
